Heading Home Again

It’s that time again, time for the daily evening commute back to your home pod. Get in your hovercars, strap on your jetbacks, wait for the lasermonorail, or do whatever it is that you need to do.

And then get ready for the traffic jams and accidents and deaths by swooping killer pigeons. Same as usual, day after day. I keep thinking that one day technology will advance enough to get us out of this mess. Maybe teleportation without the brain damage. Maybe there’s some kind of sub-lightspeed transport system that would fix it.

I don’t know what the details are, but there has to be something. 200 layers of hovercar traffic that completely blocks out the sun is just a little bit soul-killing, you know? Jetback exhaust fumes mixed in with the stench of killer pigeons looking for easy victims just makes it that much more unpleasant.

Oh well. What can you do. See you again tomorrow.
