Short Winter

My favorite thing about this winter is how short it was. That was also the most surprising thing. The winters do seem to be getting shorter and shorter every year, and so I really have no reason to be so surprised, but here I am, all surprised.

I guess that even though they’d been getting shorter, they’d never been this short before. I mean, an 11-day winter? That just doesn’t seem right somehow. It seems like a Communist, un-American winter. No, wait, those Russian Siberian winters are probably longer than usual, not shorter than usual.

I guess it seems like an un-American Californian winter. Why, back in my day, winters lasted for several months. And we had to walk uphill both ways in winter that was three feet deep!

All I’m saying is, winters that are only a little more than one week long aren’t really right. It shouldn’t be springtime during Christmas. Really, I swear, that’s just not right.
