Hitchhiking Lions Today
A friend of mine — let’s call him Treginott — sent me an e-mail this morning asking me if I saw a pair of lions hitchhiking on the side of the road during rush hour.
I said that I hadn’t, because, let’s face it, that’s crazy talk. Who ever sees hitchhiking lions on a Tuesday? I’ve only ever seen them just before the weekend as they try to make their way back home to spend the weekend with their families.
But no, Treginott was convinced that there were two hitchhiking lions out on a Tuesday morning, and nothing I said could convince him otherwise. He said he came around a few hours later to look for them again, and they weren’t there. He thinks he might have seen one of them get into a boxcar to travel home by train, but he’s not completely positive about that. It might have just been some lion-looking immigrants catching a ride to the pepperoni fields for some harvesting work.
I just laughed. Lions on a Tuesday! Some people have no common sense.
